Our Bankruptcy, Creditors' Rights & Restructuring Practice Group has extensive experience providing a broad range of services in situations involving financially troubled businesses and individuals.
Our expertise includes:
* Representing debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 proceedings and other types of insolvency proceedings
* Representing secured and unsecured lenders and other creditors in bankruptcy court proceedings, as well as in pre-petition negotiations

Evidenced by the above examples, our practice group has the skills and expertise to represent both debtors and creditors in a variety of contexts, including business strategy and negotiation and, if necessary, bankruptcy filings and litigation. We are involved in bankruptcy proceedings in Illinois and Florida, as well as in courts in other regions of the country. Prior to the commencement of court proceedings, we counsel distressed businesses as to the various alternatives in order to maximize the benefits to which they are entitled under applicable law. We also work with secured and unsecured creditors in the pre-petition phase in order to best protect their rights.

Mr. Hunt focuses his practice in the areas of bankruptcy, creditors’ rights and business litigation.
Mr. Hunt is Board Certified in Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification. He is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, has served as an Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and been named a Florida Super Lawyer® since 2006. Mr. Hunt is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, The Florida Bar Association, The District of Columbia Bar Association, State Bar of Georgia, Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida, Federal Bar Association, The Federalist Society, A.F.I.O., Miami chapter, and the Broward County Bar Association.
Mr. Hunt served as the judicial law clerk for Honorable William F. Tuohey, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey, from 1991-92. Prior to commencing the practice of law, he was a sworn law enforcement officer in Washington D.C. and New Jersey.
