With nearly 60 years of combined experience in family law, our attorneys offer the creativity and expertise necessary to address each client's unique sensitive needs and handle each case with professionalism.
Our attorneys and staff are acutely aware of the emotional and psychological impact divorce and custody matters can have on a family. We strive to conduct all conflict resolution in a caring and professional manner. We are committed to the use of collateral professionals, such as psychologists and accountants, when necessary to achieve what is in the best interest for our clients and minor children.
Although most cases are resolved through settlement negotiations and mediations, our attorneys also have extensive trial experience in complex marital and family law matters. Ms. Cummings is a Shareholder in GrayRobinson's Ft. Lauderdale office. Her professional practice focuses on family law matters such as dissolution of marriage, alimony, asset distribution, child support and parenting matters, including paternity, as well as prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. She advises and counsels clients and litigates on a full range of legal issues that arise from family relationships
She is Board Certified by The Florida Bar as a specialist in the practice of marital and family law and is "AV" rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
Ms. Cummings is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and a Fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. In addition to her certification as a specialist in marital and family law, she is a certified family law mediator and circuit/civil mediator.
Ms. Cummings serves as a representative to the American Bar Association House of Delegates and is an appointee of the Florida Supreme Court to The Florida Bar Foundation Board of Directors. She serves as Vice President of the Foundation Board and as a member of the Executive Committee.
Ms. Cummings previously served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Florida Bar (representative of the 17th Judicial Circuit), former chair of the Board's Communications, Access and Program Evaluation Committees and former member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors. She has also served as Board of Governors' liaison to the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar and was on the Executive Council of the Family Law Section. Ms. Cummings also served as Chair of The Florida Bar Annual Meeting Committee. Ms. Cummings also served as chair of the Judicial Nominating Commission of the 17th Judicial Circuit, as President to the South Broward Bar Association, as President of the Nova Law Alumni Association, and on the Board of the Broward County Bar Association.
She is listed in the Best Lawyers in America. In addition, Ms. Cummings has been recognized in Florida Super Lawyers and has also been named in the top 50 female Super Lawyers.
Ms. Cummings has lectured before numerous professionals and groups in the family law field including the Broward County and the Palm Beach County Bar Associations. She has served as a faculty member for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, and has lectured at The Florida Bar's Practicing with Professionalism seminar. Most recently, she lectured on prenuptial and postnuptial agreements at the Florida Bar's Annual Attorney/Trust Officers' Conference in Palm Beach.
