Mark D. Bowen, a partner of the firm, is a registered patent attorney and Florida Bar Certified Expert in the field of Intellectual Property, with over fifteen years experience in prosecuting and litigating patent, trademark, and copyright cases. His technological background is in mechanical engineering with particular emphasis in the areas of heat transfer, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems drawn from his years as an engineering specialist and regional sales manager for the commercial equipment and controls division of Carrier Air Conditioning Corporation, a subsidiary of United Technologies. Mr. Bowen also has broad patent prosecution experience in the mechanical and electrical arts, including: electronic circuit board fabrication, aviation systems, robotics, emergency rescue devices, medical technologies, investment casting and photo polymerization manufacturing techniques, marine industry systems and sports related devices.
Mr. Bowen received his juris doctor from the University of Miami in 1994, where he was a member of the Intellectual Property Law Association, and a law review member for the University of Miami Yearbook of International law. Mr. Bowen has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University, where he was honored as a member of the Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma honorary engineering societies.
